Microsoft windows 7
Microsoft, the big giant in the computer world, having 7th operating system just been launched. So why is there another operating system so soon after their last one Vista.
I use both windows xp and vista, I’d used xp since it came out in 2001 and find it to be ok, and haven’t really have any major problems with it, it’s ran for years. Then had a computer with vista on it, so different and I didn’t like it at first, but slowly over the last year or so I’m becoming to liking it. I did have a beta copy of windows 7 back in February of this year. Very similar to vista, seemed much more polished than vista and for the short time that I ran windows 7 I did like it, it did seem better than vista, but I still like windows xp.
Why as Microsoft launched a new version of windows so soon after vista was lunched only a few years ago, were as the time between windows xp and vista was 5 years. Lot of people who had been cosutomed to using windows xp didn’t like vista that includes me to start with. But Microsoft windows 7 is almost the same as vista, is it because they could make more money by bring out a new, re-deigned version of vista, only adding or taking away and giving it a better look.
In my son school, in September they were using windows 7 before it was due to come out to the public, I couldn’t believe it, guess it’s easier to change the operating system before they went back to school and not doing it during the time they were in school, mid-term or anything like that.
I think that I will stick with windows xp for some time to come, as there are live up dates until 2016, after which the live up dates for windows xp will stop, and I’m sure by then Microsoft will have got a new operating system out and vista will be on its last legs too.
Why do they always seem to be bring out a new operating system confusing everyone, you have windows xp and then more up to windows 7 things are going to be different, if you did something in windows xp, you might not be able to do it in the same way, this don’t help as you need to find the way of doing it the way windows 7 does it.
I’m always getting asked questions by people at work, how do you do that, how do you do this and so on, I just spend so much time with a computer and I think that the best way of learn, turning your computer on and not being afraid of doing something wrong, getting to know you computer and what it can do, read books and forms on the internet helps.
I guess I’ll have to go out and get a copy of windows 7 and see what it’s all about, as I’m sure it got to be better than vista. I’m lucky that I have more than one computer, and it would be easy for me to switch between vista, xp and windows 7 if I wanted to, but not everyone can do that. If you were to go out and buy a copy of windows 7 and then got it home and installed it and find you didn’t like it, you might not be able to go back to using vista or xp. I would think carefully before up grading as if you like the system you have, why bother to spend your money on something you might not like. Ok if you go and buy a new computer you don’t have any choice in the matter as it will come with windows 7 all ready installed.
Stick with what you got, it works for you, it’s updated and should be working ok, you don’t always have to have the latest software to do things. I may go and get a copy of windows 7, but it won’t be just yet, I’m happy with what I have, windows xp on 1 computer and vista on 2 computers.
Take care and have fun
